What it Does/How it Works:

Often in life it’s not the event that controls our destiny, but our reaction to it. The primary mechanism of damage to liver cells in HCV infections is not directly from the virus. What inflames the liver is the cellular immune activation in response to the presence of the virus. The cells fight back with lysosomes which are small organelles found in each cell. These are the cellular chemical factories which produce reactive oxygen species (ROS). This highly caustic compound then attacks the virus damaging the hepatocytes (liver cells) in the process.

This is why all the anti-oxidants (Glutathiones, milk thistle, lipoic acid, NAC, and selenium) help mitigate the damage to the liver. The orotates, on the other hand, go more directly to the problem. Lithium and calcium orotates stabilize the cellular membranes of the lysosomes slowing down the production of ROS.

Calcium and Lithium Orotates have been used since the 1970′s in the treatment of chronic hepatitis. Dr. Hans Nieper achieved great succes in treating Hepatitis C simply using the orotates along with steroids. Calcium and Lithium Orotate enable the liver to heal by quieting the ROS firestorm.

Calcium Orotate is a very effective calcium for bone re-mineralization.
