What it Does/How it Works:

L-lysine inhibits replication of viruses. However as it is one of the few positively charged amino acids, its cellular absorption is poor. The outer cell membranes of all cells in the human body are also positively charged, and because two positive charges repulse one another, Lysine can be rebuffed at the site of the cell membrane. Dr. Hans Nieper combined l-lysine with orotic acid, which is a negatively charged ion carrier.  This created a neutrally charged chelate which passes far more easily through the cell membrane.
