Hepatitis C: Increased Risk of Diabetes?

Do Hepatitis C patients experience an increased  risk of Diabetes?  My wife – now age 58 -  was diagnosed with Hepatitis C approximately 10 years ago. Now her blood sugar is 400 mg/dl. Preliminary diagnosis is Type 2 Diabetes. We are wondering if this high blood sugar is connected to liver disease.

Positive Negative

Yes, there is a much greater risk of diabetes in Hepatitis C patients. The liver is a major player in blood sugar regulation. It stores sugar in the form of glycogen and then releases it as needed to balance blood sugar. For patients with Hep C and high glucose I recommend Meriva-SR, the Hepatitis C Powder, and R+Lipoic Acid.
