Herpes Simplex

Our treatments for herpes simplex viruses range from simply giving Lysine Orotate during outbreaks of cold sores to very determined protocols that follow the Alchemist Lab protocol for treating the herpes family.  These have four main principles:  Antivirals, immune boosters, heal the nervous system, and to support or detoxify the liver.  We will often treat aggressively for three months after all outbreaks are gone to eradicate the virus.  The most important step in seeking to eliminate the herpes infection altogether is healing nerve endings.

Direct antivirals kill viruses through direct mechanisms.  Indirect antivirals up-regulate the immune system to fight viruses. Our favorite immune boosting antiviral for herpes simplex is reishi which is in our REM+.  The direct antivirals we use most often with herpes simplex are Lysine Orotate, Monolaurin, D-Lenolate (Olive Leaf), and chaparral derivatives.  We recommend giving indirect (immune boosting) antivirals on a constant basis and rotating direct antivirals.

Healing nerve endings is essential to eradicating herpes simplex, otherwise they will always pop back up with stress factors.  For herpes simplex we use Phosphatidyl Serine and PQQ to specifically heal neurons.  If the patient is a very stressed individual we will also use Krill Oil, Stabilium, and Zen with patients to help chill them out, and help them to relax.

We will often use Acetyl Glutathione in treating herpes simplex which is the anti-oxidant found naturally intra-cellular with the liver. Toxins jam into cell membranes where they spin off odd-shaped fatty acids that viruses can use to replicate.  Sometimes we need to detoxify to control viral infections.  Glutathione primes a very important pathway of detoxification.  If cost is an issue we use Milk Thistle to support the liver.

With herpes With herpes simplex infections the lifestyle factors are stress, diet, sun exposure, and sexuality.  For diet it is important to avoid high arginine foods of which the main culprits are chocolate and nuts. It is difficult to heal the nervous system if your life is making you a wreck.  Sometimes decisions need to be made to lower the stress level.  The Alchemist Lab herpes protocol tends to have an emotionally cleansing impact on people as they often feel cleaner inside and freer in their sexuality.  Freer does not mean more promiscuous, it means less burdened.  For people who get oral herpes after intense sun exposure it works to take 2 Lysine Orotate twice daily before and during that sun event.
